Financial Planning Associate
Position Overview:
The Financial Planning Associate position brings technical expertise to the firm and has responsibility for supporting the advisor in delivering financial planning advice to clients. The goal would be for he or she to serve as an in-house expert on financial planning issues once fully trained. You will work collaboratively with the firm’s advisors to support the delivery of services to clients, including helping clients understand their financial circumstances and opportunities to reach their short- and long-term financial objectives based on their specific financial situations and goals.

Position Responsibilities:
- Assess clients’ financial situations and prepare and maintain comprehensive financial plans for clients consistent with each client’s goals.
- Analyze results, develop recommendations, and partner with advisors to deliver to clients.
- Perform in-depth tax analysis and cash flow planning for clients.
- Follow up with clients to validate data received and clarify objectives. Ensure data requested is fulfilled.
- Participate in client meetings and document meeting discussions.
- Coordinate with advisors and team members to provide an outstanding client experience and identify additional opportunities to add value.
- Assist with additional client support and coordination with outside resources as applicable based on client needs.
- Maintain technical expertise and serve as an in-house expert on financial planning, providing advice and updates to team as appropriate.
- Pursue continued education opportunities and networking and follow industry-specific research and publications.
- Maintain an efficient and effective planning process consistent with firm and client needs.
- Utilize appropriate software and tools to ensure accurate and timely client communications and reporting and maintenance of client records and files.
- Other projects, responsibilities, and duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with eMoney financial planning software and Holistiplan tax planning software a plus.
- Series 65 passed or to be passed within 90 days of start date.
- Certified Financial Planner™ educational requirements in process or hold the Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional (FPQP) designation desired.
- 1-3 years relevant experience.
